Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) Vaccination Programme

RSV is one of the common viruses that cause coughs and colds in winter.

In most people, RSV infection causes a mild respiratory illness, but for a small number of people who are at risk of more severe respiratory disease, it might cause pneumonia or even death.

Eligible patient cohorts for this programme are:

  • Adults aged 75 to 79 years (these patients will remain eligible until they reach 80 years and will not be eligible thereafter)
  • Pregnant women (from 28 weeks of pregnancy but before 36 weeks)
